Pétanque

F.I.PJ.P. (pétanque) is founded in 1958 to Marseille, France, by the Federations of Belgium, Monaco, Switzerland, France and Tunisia. The first president was the French Altiero, actually the leader is French Claude Azema.
The game is played on every kind of ground. Bowls are metals with a diameter between 70,5 mm and 80 mm and a minimum weight of 650 gram and a maximum of 800 gram. The jack is on wood (from 25mm to 35 mm). The game consists on drawing up owns bowls to the jack as more as possible. It is possible to hit the opponent’s bowl both on volo and on raffle. The player has to play his game located, standing on own feet, in a circle, on the ground, of a dia­meter from 35 to 50 centimetres. It exists the precision throw speciality too.
